The screen should be positioned in proper relation to other components like the keyboard, desk, and chair.While using the "computer monitor" , ensure the following:-The screen is in front of you and at least 20 inches (45 centimetres) away.The screen should not be more than 40 inches (100 centimetres) away.Ideal computer screen size is between 15 to 20 inches, (about 37 to 50 centimetres) measured diagonally. If the screen is very small, youll find it difficult to read the characters. If the screen is very large, you may require too much space.The ideal position is to have the screen directly in front of you. But, if that is not possible, the maximum offcentering recommended is 35 degrees to the left or right of you. If necessary raise your chair a little, so that your line of sight is also raised. (However if you do this, make sure your feet still get get good support, and your thighs can move freely under the desk.)Computer monitor should not be placed above or on top of other equipment like a CPU (central processing unit) or a surge protector. The screen would be then higher than your eyes. That might well increase strain on your eyes, neck, and back.If your work is chiefly involved with printed matter, it is better to place the computer monitor a little to the side, with the documents on a stand just in front of you. There should not be too much distance between the monitor and the printed matter.The screen should be placed at right angles to windows, so avoiding irritating reflections.The ideal screen position is to have it directly in front of you. But, if that is not possible, the maximum offcentering recommended is 35 degrees to the left or right.If your work is chiefly involved with printed matter, it is better to place the computer monitor a little to the side, with the documents on a stand just in front of you. There should not be too much distance between the screen and any printed matter you are working on.Do not tilt computer monitors sharply either toward or away from yourself, as the objects on the screen may appear distorted making them hard to view. Also, if the monitor is tilted back, there are chances of the overhead lights creating glare on the monitor, and a tilted or propped monitor may become unstable and fall over. You can tilt the computer monitor screen slightly - somewhere between 10 to 20 degrees - so that it is perpendicular to your line of sight. Always ensure that the angle and tilt of the screen can be adjusted without much effort.For anything other than minor screen adjustment, it is is better to have the computer monitor sitting on a a riser/swivel stand, available from any good computer accessory store, on or offline. Previously I have written on budget (time and money) and also on organising your email routine. I touched on basic tools needed and would like to share a little on browsing. I see you sit up and take notice this is not on how to surf the net.;-) but rather how to organize your various programs and activities into one dashboard for lack of a better descriptor.I found it incredibly difficult to remember which programs and activities go together especially if I have not been working with them for a week or so. It would take me a half hour or so to fiddle around and eventually identify all of the bits and pieces that I need to have open to do the job for that day. Once again - time wasted and frustration levels raised.I have found it very effective to use tabbed browsers. Whats this? A tabbed browser allows you to have multiple sessions open simultaneously and keeps them all in one place. In the first instance, this makes my desktop a lot tidier as I do not have a whole ream of Explorer icons filling up my power bar at the bottom of the screen. Another real benefit of tabbed browsers (the main one in my opinion) is the ability they give you to save your Internet sessions in groups. This is really cool, because the next time you want to do something, you now only need to start the browser, select the Group or Bookmark you created and voila all of your related sessions in one place. My two favourite tabbed browsers are CrazyBrowser and Mozilla/FireFox.I use them for grouping my Affiliate programs logically, so I have set my browser groups by type of program cool when I need to check status etc. I also use the tabbed browser CrazyBrowser to group the various traffic exchanges I surf in logical bunches for instance Group 1 I know is Monday, Group 2 Tuesday etc. One click and ten traffic exchanges open and I can go ahead and surf for credits. Smart!I also use tabbed browsers when testing new web pages open up the sites I need and then it is easy to hop from site to site as I make changes and need to verify them.A tool that is a MUST to have when you use the tabbed browsers (in fact for any work that you do online) is RoboForm. This is a password and location repository that will recognize a URL and then offer you a selection of previously saved passwords to choose from. This is a definite win, especially when you have to recall 40 or 50 different web addresses and related passwords.One of the features is that if you do not recall the address of the site, but have the password saved under a name you have given, all you do is click on the name and RoboForm will take you to the site and log you on.If I can leave you with one thought for today:Rather than waste time scrabbling around to recall site addresses or passwords, organize these into a neat compartment that allows you to manage your time and routine tasks more easily.

The Principle of fiber optics is based on transmission of data by means of light. Concept of fiber optics was first conceived by Claude Chappe in 1790s. His idea for fiber optics was based on an optical telegraph concept invented by Graham Bell also tried the means to send information by the atmosphere but did not succeed. Finally, fiber optics emerged with the onset of new era based on the principle of total internal reflection which is a distinct quality of light rays. Fiber optics emerged and grew into more advanced phase due to requirement from radio and telephone engineers. These engineers required more bandwidth for data transmission. Thus these engineers had been looking out for a medium to transmit data in more reliable and faster form rather than copper cables. They also wanted to avoid the hazards of electric shocks and interference which were a constant problem of copper cables. Fiber optics had attracted some attention because they were analogous in theory to plastic dielectric waveguides used in certain microwave applications. Finally a technology evolved that used glass or plastic threads to transmit data. Cables involved in fiber optics contain several bundles of glass threads which are capable of transmitting data in modulated form.With the onset of fiber optics and fiber optic cables data started to transfer faster as fiber optic cables have greater bandwidth than metal cables and are more resistant to external interference. Lighter and thinner fiber optic cables readily transfer data in digital form rather than analogue form. This technology is most useful in computer industry which now forms an integral part of telephone, radio and television industry. Telecommunications applications of fiber optics use flexible low-loss fibers, using a single fiber per optical path. Along with the communication industry fiber optics plays an important role in medical and industrial applications also. Many medical appliances like endoscope use the principle of fiber optics. Industrial applications viz. in television industry use the principle of fiber optics to obtain flattened images in cathode ray tubes. Fiber optics yield distortion free data transmission in digital form. The audio waves transmitted via principle of fiber optics deliver accurate signal transfer. Fiber optics is also useful in automotive and transportation industry.
